Divisible load permits

Divisible load permits begin with any of the following: AC, AG, MI, PB, PP, PS, RF or RS.

Overweight travel suspended

Travel under overweight multiple trip divisible load permit types is suspended during spring thaw. Only the weight provision of these permits is suspended. Over length loads, as authorized by the permit, may continue to be transported.

Exceptions

  • Vehicles authorized by permit type PS (potato seed) may continue to operate on the authorized seed potato route but may not travel on Class II roads nor over posted roads and structures.
  • Vehicles authorized by permit type RS (raw forest products at 98,000 pounds gvw on 6 axles) may continue to operate during spring thaw on State Highway (STH), U.S. Highway (US) and the short stretches of roadway that meet the statutory definition of "Connecting Highway," i.e., numbered STH and US that under the maintenance authority of a local jurisdiction. Travel is authorized on Class II roadway but vehicles may not travel over posted structures.
