Connecting Highway Aids

Connecting Highway Aids (CHA) PDF assist municipalities with costs associated with increased traffic and maintenance on roads that connect segments of the State Trunk Highway System.

Some 122 municipalities receive quarterly payments on a per lane mile basis, with rates varying according to population and appropriations set in the state budget.

The following documents list the final 2007, 2006, 2005 and 2004 CHA payments for each town, village, city, and county:

Following is an annual document published by WisDOT's Division of Transportation System Development, which includes a detail of all State Trunk and Connecting Highways in the state:

Funds are provided through quarterly payments made on the first Monday of January, April, July and October. Communities select payment options including paper check, automated clearinghouse (ACH), or state investment pool (ACH-INV). Please contact Beverly Maddrell at the Wisconsin Department of Revenue, (608) 264-6892 or fax (608) 264-6887, to modify your payment option.
