State reprimands Madison auto dealer

May 22, 2008

In an effort to maintain its motor vehicle dealer license, Abe's Auto, LLC, 4514 Pflaum Rd., Madison, agrees to follow better business practices. The dealership acknowledged allowing persons to use their own funds to buy and sell motor vehicles with the dealership's motor vehicle dealer license, in violation of state law.

Abe's Auto will allow agents or employees of WisDOT to inspect all business records necessary to verify that it has discontinued this illegal practice and is in compliance with state law.

The agreement is part of a special order issued by David Schwarz, administrator of the state Department of Administration's Division of Hearings and Appeals. The action came as the result of an investigation by the WisDOT Division of Motor Vehicles Dealer and Agent Section. Violation of a special order is grounds for denial, suspension, or revocation of a representative license.
