June 12, 2008

Project limits are Lynndale Drive to US 41

The Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WisDOT) NE region office at Green Bay is announcing an update to the WIS 96 rehabilitation project between Lynndale Drive and US 41 in the town of Grand Chute. The first phase of the project will be completed at the end of this week with the completion of the concrete pavement and storm sewer repairs in the outside lanes of WIS 96.

The second phase is beginning on June 16 and will provide repairs in the median and the inside lanes of WIS 96. Included are also pavement repairs in the intersections of WIS 96 and US 41, Westhill Boulevard, Bluemound Drive and Lynndale Drive.

Following the repair work of the second phase, concrete milling and asphalt paving will be completed in the last phase to provide a finished roadway surface.

Traffic impacts include:

  • The inside lanes of WIS 96, including the median, will be closed throughout this phase.
  • US 41 on and off ramps at WIS 96 (Wisconsin Ave.) may be closed for a maximum of five nights from 7 p.m. to 7 a.m.
  • WIS 96 left turn lanes will be maintained during the day at US 41, Westhill Boulevard, Bluemound Drive and Lynndale Drive, but may be closed at night from 7 p.m. to 7 a.m. for select nights to complete the work in the intersection.
  • Westhill Boulevard, Bluemound Drive and Lynndale Drive may be reduced to one lane in each direction at night from 7 p.m. to 7 a.m.
  • Access to businesses will be maintained.

All work is scheduled for completion in late August.  Motorists are reminded to exercise caution and remain alert when traveling through this or any work zone.
