Removal planned for old Wisconsin Street Bridge piers in Oshkosh starting July 15

July 10, 2008

Work will involve blasting

The Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WisDOT) Northeast Regional office at Green Bay is announcing work to remove the old bridge piers associated with the Wisconsin Street Bridge project in the city of Oshkosh will include blasting. Blasting will begin on July 15 and continue until late August. The blasting will not affect vehicular traffic, but boaters will need to exercise caution and follow the direction of the contractor’s staff. During times when blasting will occur, boaters will be warned and water traffic will be halted for short periods that should last approximately 15 minutes, but delays could be longer.

At this time, work is scheduled during the week and should not affect boating traffic on the weekend.
