Governor Jim Doyle approves US 8 improvements
July 21, 2008
As part of his “Grow Wisconsin” initiative to invest in Wisconsin’s infrastructure and stimulate
our state’s economy, Governor Jim Doyle recently signed a $1.8 million contract to improve
approximately 11.5 miles of US 8 between Prentice and Bradley in Price, Lincoln, and Oneida
Counties.
Construction is scheduled to begin on July 30, 2008.
American Asphalt of Mosinee is the prime contractor for the project. Crews will resurface the
pavement and replace existing guardrails.
Construction is scheduled for completion by early September 2008, according to Jim Volkmann,
WisDOT project manager.
US 8 will remain open to traffic during construction. Motorists can expect to encounter flagging operations and single lane restrictions during daylight hours.
One hundred percent of the project will be paid with state transportation funds.
