Governor Doyle approves $800,000 project at General Mitchell International Airport

Wisconsin Governor Jim Doyle has approved an $800,000 project to construct a maintenance building
at Milwaukee County's General Mitchell International Airport. The Governor's action releases
$640,000 in state funds to help complete the work. Milwaukee County is contributing $160,000.
According to Wendy Hottenstein, airport development engineer with the Wisconsin Department of
Transportation, the project will provide additional storage space for the airport's snow removal
equipment.
The project is expected to be completed by July 2009.
General Mitchell International Airport has five hard-surfaced runways that accommodate over
seven million passengers and 215,000 aircraft take-offs and landings each year. More information on
