Governor Jim Doyle approves US 8 (Price County) and WIS 17 (Oneida County) improvements
August 5, 2008
As part of his “Grow Wisconsin” initiative to invest in Wisconsin’s infrastructure and stimulate our state’s economy, Governor Jim Doyle recently signed a $540,000 contract to improve US 8 west of Catawba in Price County, and WIS 17 north of Rhinelander in Oneida County.
Construction is scheduled to begin on August 11, 2008.
Integrity Grading and Excavating, Inc. of Rothschild is the prime contractor for the project. Crews will add curb, gutter, and storm sewers to a section of WIS 17 in Oneida County. Crews will also replace several culvert pipes on US 8 in Price County. These improvements will help improve drainage on WIS 17 and US 8.
Construction is scheduled for completion by mid-September 2008.
US 8 and WIS 17 will remain open to traffic during construction. Motorists may encounter flagging operations.
One hundred percent of the project will be paid with state transportation funds.
