Blatnik Bridge inspection planned

August 15, 2008

The Wisconsin Department of Transportation will be conducting a routine inspection of the Blatnik Bridge beginning Monday, Aug. 18.

Motorists can expect delays during the inspection as the outside lane and shoulder will be blocked off to allow crews to work. The inspection will take place Monday - Thursday between 9 a.m. - 3 p.m. to avoid rush hour traffic. They will finish the inspection the week of August 25-August 28, same timeframe.

During the inspection on Tuesday, Aug. 19, maintenance crews will be doing some repair work on the northbound US 53 ramp onto the bridge. There will be a short detour on to city streets while that work is completed.
