Governor Doyle approves $60,000 project at Park Falls Municipal Airport
August 19, 2008
Governor Jim Doyle has approved a $60,000 project to improve the Park Falls Municipal Airport. The
Governor's action releases $1,500 in state funds to upgrade the airplane refueling system at the
airport. The city of Park Falls is contributing another $1,500, and the Federal Aviation
Administration is providing $57,000.
According to Craig Butler, project manager with the Wisconsin Department of Transportation,
the project will replace the existing 4,000-gallon fuel tank with a new, above-ground 2,500-gallon
tank with a card reader system. The new system will allow airplanes to refuel 24 hours a day
without an attendant at the airport.
The project is scheduled to begin in mid-summer and should be completed by fall 2008.
