Governor Doyle approves $1,150,888 project at Fond du Lac County Airport
August 19, 2008
Wisconsin Governor Jim Doyle has approved a $1,150,888 project to construct an airport terminal
building at the Fond du Lac County Airport. The Governor's action releases $500,000 in state funds
for the project and Fond du Lac County is contributing $406,433. The Federal Aviation
Administration is providing $244,455.
According to Craig Butler, project manager with the Wisconsin Department of Transportation,
the new 6,000 square foot terminal building will accommodate airport personnel and guests
comfortably, provide room for flight training, and house building utilities.
The project is scheduled to begin in August 2008 and be completed by June 2009.
Facilities at the Fond du Lac County Airport include a 5,940-foot primary runway and a
3,600-foot crosswind runway that together accommodate some 68,000 take-offs and landings each year.
The airport serves as the number one reliever facility during the annual EAA Convention in Oshkosh.
