Governor Doyle approves $315,790 project at Marshfield Municipal Airport

August 19, 2008

Governor Jim Doyle has approved a $315,790 project to upgrade the aviation fuel system at the Marshfield Municipal Airport. The Governor's action releases $7,895 in state funds for the project and the city of Marshfield is contributing another $7,895. The Federal Aviation Administration is providing $300,000.

According to Michael Gabor, airport engineering specialist with the Wisconsin Department of Transportation, the project will provide a state-of-the-art fueling system with high flow capacity.

The project is scheduled to begin in September 2008 and should be completed by April 2009.

Facilities at the Marshfield Municipal Airport include a 5,000-foot primary runway and a 3,600-foot crosswind runway that accommodate over 26,000 take-offs and landings each year.
