Meeting to focus on preliminary designs
The Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WisDOT) Southeast Regional Office in Waukesha is announcing a public information meeting to discuss preliminary design concepts for the resurfacing of Northwestern Avenue (WIS 38) from Golf Road to Rapids Drive in Racine County. The meeting is scheduled from 5 to 7 p.m. on Wednesday, October 15, 2008, at Racine City Hall (Council Chambers-Room 205), 730 Washington Avenue, Racine.
The proposed project will include new sidewalk on the west side of WIS 38 between the Quarry Lake Park entrance and Golf Avenue, improved pedestrian crossing to Quarry Lake Park, curb and gutter and storm sewer replacement in spot locations, and possible elimination of two auxiliary lanes. Final design will begin in mid-2008 with construction scheduled for the summer of 2009.
The public is encouraged to attend the meeting, provide input, and ask questions concerning this project. Maps showing the proposed improvement alternatives will be on display. WisDOT representatives will be available to discuss the project on an individual basis.
