Northwest Region construction update

The Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WisDOT) is providing a weekly update on construction projects in the Northwest Region, which includes the counties of Ashland, Barron, Bayfield, Buffalo, Burnett, Chippewa, Clark, Douglas, Dunn, Eau Claire, Jackson, Pepin, Pierce, Polk, Rusk, St. Croix, Sawyer, Taylor, Trempealeau and Washburn counties.
Construction-related traffic impact exists in the following locations. Closures listed are subject to change and are weather-dependent.
NOTE: The Northwest region weekly construction update will be updated in spring 2009.

Description: Resurface project
Traffic impact: Road will be open to traffic, with the use of flagging crews.
US 63
Location: Baldwin-Clear Lake Road (Dry Run Creek Bridge and Rush River Bridge)
Schedule: September - November 2008
Cost: $891,000
Description: Bridge replacement projects
Traffic impact: One lane open with a temporary signal at the Rush River Bridge. A temporary
bypass is in place around the Dry Run Creek Bridge.
Sawyer County

Trempealeau County
US 53
Location: Whitehall - Osseo
Schedule: July/August - November 2008
Description: Resurfacing
Traffic impact: Open to traffic with flagging operation.
Washburn County

Motorists should slow down, use caution and stay alert when driving through construction zones. To avoid delays, consider taking an alternative route and avoid peak travel periods. Before leaving home, check the following sources for information about work zones and detours:
