Two new web sites are now available for Brown County projects
November 20, 2008
Sites provide information on Green Bay WIS 172 and Wrightstown bridge projects
The Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WisDOT) Northeast Region at Green Bay is announcing
two new web sites have been posted. One is for the WIS 172 Resurfacing Project and the other
focuses on the WIS 96 Fox River (Wrightstown) Bridge and Approaches Corridor Study. Both projects
are in Brown County.
The WIS 172 site is located at:
http://www.dot.wisconsin.gov/projects/wis172construction/index.htm.
The Wrightstown bridge site is located at:
http://www.dot.wisconsin.gov/projects/wis96bridgestudy/index.htm.
The WIS 172 project is 5.5 miles in length and includes segments in the villages of
Ashwaubenon, Allouez, and Bellevue. Construction began in September 2008 and will be completed by
September 2010. Beginning in February 2009, the traffic impact will be substantial and this Web
site has been developed to help motorists cope with the project.
The goal of the WIS 96/Wrightstown bridge study is to recommend a preferred crossing location
that meets the existing and future needs for the village of Wrightstown and surrounding
communities. The two-year study will be completed with a recommendation in summer 2009.
Construction is tentatively planned to begin in the 2012-2013 time frame.
