US 51 corridor, south segment - schedule

The US 51 Stoughton to McFarland Needs Assessment (NA) started in early 2003 and ended in February 2004. 

Since February 2005, WisDOT has been studying alternatives for addressing the problems identified in the NA and has initiated environmental studies for the US 51 corridor, south segment corridor study. The studies will continue through 2008 and will be followed by public information meetings (PIM) and preparation of a draft environmental impact statement (DEIS) in 2009. 

Alternatives to addressing the short-term problems will be developed and potentially implemented as opportunities and resources are available. No major construction projects are planned at this time.
