County D to WIS 175 project

Improvements on US 151 between County D and WIS 175 include an interchange project and construction of a new four-lane roadway.

A new interchange will be constructed at US 151 and County D to connect the new four-lane highway from Waupun with the Fond du Lac bypass. The project extends 1.7 miles and will be performed under traffic.

The interchange will include work on the following ramps:

  • Northbound off-ramp to westbound County D
  • Northbound off-ramp that will loop to eastbound County D
  • Southbound on-ramp at County D

A four-lane divided highway will be constructed to connect existing US 151 with the Fond du Lac bypass at WIS 175.

Work includes:

  • Building an overpass at River Road.
  • Constructing an overpass at the Wildgoose Trail.
  • Constructing an interchange at Hickory Road.
  • Building an underpass at the Wisconsin Central Line railroad tracks.
  • Building a bridge over the east branch of the Fond du Lac River.
  • Constructing an interchange at WIS 175.

The WIS 175 interchange will have jug handle ramps, which will accommodate full vehicular access between WIS 175 and US 151. The ramps will be located along the west side of WIS 175. WIS 175 will span over US 151. This improvement will provide safe, direct access to Main Street, which is Fond du Lac's downtown corridor. The WIS 175 jug handle interchange will be open to traffic in October 2008.
