WIS 165 Study

Project overview

The Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WisDOT) has completed a study on WIS 165 from WIS 31 to WIS 32 in Kenosha County.

The 3.5-mile corridor study evaluated the impacts of constructing a four-lane facility to improve traffic flow and safety. The engineering and environmental study evaluated existing and future traffic demand, safety concerns, environmental impacts and measures to avoid or minimize adverse impacts.

Major outcomes of the study included:

  • An Environmental Assessment (EA), including a range of alternatives and their impacts to the environment.
  • A functional plan outlining the preferred option.

The study concluded in June 2007 with a recommended improvement plan that will assist local officials in making future land use decisions and preserving land needed for future transportation improvements.
