WIS 83 Project - Environmental documents, Final Environmental Impact Statement (FEIS)

Record of Decision (ROD)

The Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WisDOT), in response to comments received from review agencies, local units of government, interest groups and private citizens, prepared a Record of Decision (ROD) for the WIS 83 Project.

The ROD detailed the features of the selected alternative, discussed the range and magnitude of impacts associated with ultimate construction of this alternative, and addressed comments on the FEIS, which was completed in February 2006.

After coordinating with appropriate review agency representatives, the ROD was finalized and forwarded to the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) for review and comment. FHWA issued the ROD on May 2006.

Based on FHWA's determination, the environmental analysis and documentation phase of this project is now complete. Commitments made in the FEIS (including impact mitigation, design features, permit requirements and others) were pursued during the design process.
