Advisory Committee meetings

The 18-member WIS 23 Advisory Committee was selected to provide a consistent local review of the alternatives being outlined in the EIS. The committee ensures representation for the entire WIS 23 corridor, from Fond du Lac to Sheboygan, with emphasis placed on the 2-lane portion between Plymouth and Fond du Lac.

The committee is comprised of Fond du Lac and Sheboygan counties' local government staff, elected officials, citizens and businesses potentially impacted by future changes to WIS 23. Committee members were asked to be informed local contacts for citizens with questions, comments or concerns about the WIS 23 project and have agreed to have their names and contact information used in newsletters and public involvement activities.

The Advisory Committee met in April, June and November 2002. The advisory committee also met to provide their comments on the Draft EIS.

Meetings with local officials

WisDOT met with local public officials in December 2001 and February 2002 and presented the study objectives, scope and schedule and obtained information on local land use issues and concerns.

Some local officials also serve on the WIS 23 Advisory Committee, which will meet regularly until a course of action is chosen.
