The American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 provides Wisconsin with many opportunities to create jobs, address challenges, and bring the nation back to economic health. The Act includes provisions to make unprecedented investments in Wisconsin’s transportation infrastructure.

With passage of the federal recovery bill, Governor Jim Doyle established the Wisconsin Office of Recovery and Reinvestment to help communities, local governments, the private sector and other stakeholders to quickly put recovery money to work here in Wisconsin.

The Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WisDOT) is coordinating with transportation interests to quickly identify projects eligible for recovery funding and get projects underway to provide immediate job opportunities and long-term benefits to communities.
