Connections 2030 - Public involvement

WisDOT develops transportation plans in cooperation with the public, state and federal review agencies. The department will offer a variety of statewide public involvement activities and options throughout the entire Connections 2030 planning process. Activities include public meetings, newsletters, surveys and focus groups. A final public hearing will end the planning process.

Current activities

WisDOT amended the public participation plan PDF for Connections 2030. A public comment period was held from February 28, 2007 through April 16, 2007. The final public participation plan includes minor changes to address comments received.

Past activities

  • Stakeholder meetings - WisDOT planners met with stakeholders to identify current and future transportation issues.

  • Meeting with major urban areas - WisDOT also met with professional staff from the state’s major urban areas.

  • Statewide telephone survey PDF (1 MB) [This is a large file and may take several minutes to download] - A statewide telephone survey was completed in the spring of 2004. Over 1,000 Wisconsin residents participated in the survey.
