WIS 35 (Tower Avenue) Reconstruction Project

The Wisconsin Department of Transportation is planning to reconstruct approximately one mile of Tower Avenue (WIS 35) in the city of Superior -  Douglas County, from Belknap to North 3rd Street.

Tower Avenue (WIS 35), is a principal artery on the National Highway System. This long truck route connects to I-535, US 53 and US 2.

This project will provide safe and efficient roadway to the motoring public, local traffic and pedestrians. The highway has not been reconstructed since 1935.

Planning began on this project in March of 2006 with the construction projected to begin in Spring of 2013 and to be completed by the fall of that same year.  Construction costs are estimated at $7 million.
