Nonroad Construction Legacy Fleet Diesel Engine Repower Clean Diesel Grant Program

The Wisconsin Department of Transportation has established the Nonroad Construction Legacy Fleet Diesel Engine Repower Grant Program to help reduce diesel emissions from construction vehicle fleets in the state. The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency's National Clean Diesel Campaign is funding the program through the Diesel Emissions Reductions Act (DERA) as part of the Midwest Clean Diesel Initiative to help reduce diesel emissions in Wisconsin through engine repowers. By focusing on fleets that operate in the southeast and northeastern portion of the state the program will be impacting the most populated portions of the state and the areas with the most serious air quality problems. Each applicant may apply to repower any eligible piece of equipment within their fleet. The program will provide 50% of the cost of each engine repower or $30,000 whichever is less.

Please thoroughly review the grant guidelines PDF to determine eligibility and program details. If you still have questions after reviewing the guidelines, please contact one of the program staff listed below. All forms required as part of the application and awards are included on this page. Applications must be postmarked by September 15, 2009.
