Saved by the belt

The saved by the belt program recognizes persons whose lives were saved, or who were spared serious injury, due to their good judgment in wearing seat belts. Troopers investigating traffic crashes recommend candidates for the award. Honorees are presented with a "saved by the belt" certificate.
